Mike checked on our new gals to see how the grafts were taking…and there were no eggs left in any of the queen cups. A complete and utter bust. Wayne stopped by on Friday and when we were chatting about this, he noted that the hive won’t support queen development if they are not well nourished. So we will begin again, first by supplementing with large pollen patty and sugar water in plastioc bag. Then we will work in the hive and reconfigure and hopefully graft again next weekend. Here’s hoping for a little progress.
